I need spring

I need spring

I need spring in a big way. Who is with me? I started the year off strong with a month of self care (grey hair covered, new multi-focal contacts, Cologuard testing, foot surgery consultation). Not all ended the way I anticipated, but I have tried to be a good sport.

To add to the cold and rainy short days, there is a lot of uncertainty in our house. More on that topic later. I am trying to focus on the positives until the sun and warm temps return for longer days. Here are a few things I am grateful for right now:

  1. My new consulting work with pre-K students. So many little ones missed out on pediatrician visits during the pandemic, which means they are showing up to school with no supports in place. It feels good to be helping shape behavior again.
  2. Colleges for my babies. My girl got into her top choice of colleges, and my guy is crushing it his first year of college. I am one proud mama.
  3. My husband. We celebrated 20 years of marriage last month. Eloping on my 30th birthday ended up being the best decision I have ever made.
  4. The Lomi composter. It was one of my birthday presents and y’all, it is the real deal. Even the husband tosses things inside just to see them magically become dirt.
  5. Good friendships to share all of the thoughts in my super complicated brain.
  6. My fur babies. They have been my constant over the last 3 years. I cannot imagine navigating this crazy world without them by my side.

What do others do during the winter months? I am definitely a happier person with longer and warmer days.
